2018 India Food Safety Summit

Hexagon Nutrition was the Business Development partner for the Indian Food Safety Summit held on the 6th and 7th of December 2018 at the Radisson Blu Plaza in Mahipalpur, New Delhi. It was attended by our Joint Managing Director, Mr. Vikram Kelkar, and two members of our Premix team, Stuti Gupta and Umashankar.

The primary goal of this summit was to bring together senior leaders and professionals under one roof to have an open dialogue about the latest innovations and trends in safety and quality for the Food & Beverage industry. Attendees and speakers come from manufacturers, regulators, analytical services and testing companies, and other consultants.

Some of the keynote speakers were Dr. Rubeena Shaheen, Director of FSMS & R&D for FSSAI, Vijay Setia, President of AIREA, and Pradip Chakraborty, Former Director of FSSAI.

Mr. Vikram Kelkar was invited for moderating a panel discussion on Food Safety and Fortification and the eminent panelists included heads of quality departments of Nestle, GSK, Dabur and LT Foods. The interactive panel discussion was well received and there were several interesting questions raised by the audience to the panel.

Along with fortification, many important topics were discussed such as the evolving needs of the consumer, the latest techniques in HACCP, food safety for dairy products, and using technology to further food safety practices. The summit concluded with an exciting look at the future of the Indian food industry and what challenges lay ahead.
