We are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress & Woo commerce themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics. The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery

Experience building interfaces for websites and/or web applications

Excellent knowledge of WooCommerce and WordPress

Strong understanding and experience with SASS

Strong sense of visual design

Strong experience with custom WordPress theme development, including accommodating complex layouts, and plugins that require theme customization – we don’t work with prebuilt themes so it is important to have the ability to create complex setups from scratch

Experience creating custom themes for use with WooCommerce & WordPress

Familiarity with various commonplace and proven plugins such as: Advanced Custom Fields, Gravity Forms, The Events Calendar, s2Member, BuddyPress

Experience with creating custom WordPress plugins is a plus

Thorough understanding of custom post types and taxonomies

Working knowledge of basic PHP and MySQL

An understanding of programming security best practices

Familiarity with issues in web design & development and accessibility is a plus

Experience designing and developing responsive design websites

Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.

Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers

Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages

Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}

Strong understanding of PHP back-end development

Set up conversion, pixel, and event tracking on the website and across various digital platforms
