Ready-to use Therapeutic Food is a combination of essential micro-nutrients, milk solids, sugar, maltodextrin and vegetable fats, designed to treat children who come under the moderate acute malnutrition category. It can also be administered to children who have been in therapeutic nutrition programs so that they do not relapse into severe acute malnutrition.
RUSF or ready to eat supplementary food is administered in cases of moderate acute malnutrition. Based upon combinations of milk solids, sugar, maltodextrin, vegetable fats, and custom premixes comprising vitamins and minerals, RUSF provides nutritional support for at risk populations.
Home Fortifications or Multiple Micronutrient Powders ( MNPs) are 1 g sachets which are easy to administer along with staples. MNPs can easily be sprinkled on meals that are prepared at home or in school.
